The environment counts, too.
Anywhere you look these days, a company is touting their environmentally friendly, or “green” practices. This is a good shift toward sustaining the environment. In the medical industry, especially when dealing with medical waste, green practices are especially important.
Untreated biohazardous medical waste can cause unlimited damage to the environment, not to mention any people who may come into contact with a discarded sharps container or contaminated syringe. These are just a couple of many reasons the safe disposal of medical waste is so important.
To render waste completely inert and safe for a regular landfill, every piece of that waste needs to be treated. This is why batch autoclaving is ineffective: the heat doesn’t penetrate completely through the waste.
The continuous-feed autoclaves from Peerless Waste Solutions shred the waste until it’s unrecognizable and resembles confetti. The smaller surface area allows the heat to penetrate the entire volume of waste. Once finished, the waste has no resemblance to its previous self, and is rendered inert and completely safe for the environment.
